Initiate the cancel process, it will ask if you want to apply to 1, 2 or 3 of the pax. You select which ones you want. Then proceed to cancel for the 1 pax. I just did when my daughter bailed on a recent trip and was super easy!
I didn't see a way to apply to only one pax. The Cancel options links next to each individual pax took me to a Cancel screen with all 3 pax names listed and a refund amount for all 3 airfares combined. Didn't see a way to select just one person. Another thread mentioned a trick to split the PNR by using the "Upgrade" option on the one pax but the system wanted to upgrade all 3 pax together. Anyhow, I ended up using the callback option and a Premier agent took care of it.
Edit: Now I see where you can select an individual traveler to cancel. Earlier today I was getting a blank white screen when I clicked the "Update Travelers" link on the Cancel page.
