I have had it a couple of times... A couple of times, it just triggered extra screening before my flight to the USA from an international location. One time, I had it for about 8 flights, both domestic and international. The airlines do not have any control or influence, it is something TSA controls. You do lose TSA pre-check, but not global entry. I had to go through many extra screens until one day it was dropped.
