IHG Hotels - Dublin Airport / IHG Booking Guarantee
Afternoon all,
Just an FYI, the following IHG hotels nearby to Dublin Airport have agreed to an 'exclusive contract' with a client (I do not have further information) and as of 01/03/2022 are no longer open to the public:
Holiday Inn - Dublin Airport
Holiday Inn Express - Dublin Airport
Crowne Plaza - Dublin Airport
Crowne Plaza - Blanchardstown
I found this out today when the hotel called me to say how they could not honor my booking in April at the Holiday Inn - Dublin Airport. I asked if they would honor the IHG Booking Guarantee and was told the manager would call me back shortly. To my surprise, the GM called me back within 30 minutes apologizing for the inconvenience, stating how they would like to move me to the Hilton Dublin Airport and would be covering the cost of my 1 night stay (as per the IHG Booking Guarantee) and would refund my points for my upcoming stay. If anyone else is in this situation, make sure you get them to honor the IHG Booking Guarantee. It seems unless you ask, the moved booking 'Will remain the same in terms of, same rate, price and package.'
Having seen how some hotels are terrible at honoring IHG Booking Guarantee, this was a pleasant surprise. The icing on the cake, my HH number will be added to the booking at the Hilton Dublin Airport and I will get a stay credit, points and Diamond benefits with them as it is technically a direct booking being made and being invoiced to the hotel I am moved from.
I could not extract much information on this client, but I am happy for the hotels to have a guaranteed revenue stream for the foreseeable given the struggles during COVID.
