I didn't fly enough normally last year to requalify as Platinum, but I did accrue sufficient EQD based on this alternative route:
Fly on American or one of our partner airlines
September 1, 2021 - December 31, 2021
Earn at least $2,000 Elite Qualifying Dollars (EQD) on eligible airline tickets
I achieved this by flying on BA several times and crediting to AA. Those flights have shown up in my AA account for months. And despite AA incorrectly not crediting one leg of one of my journeys because they erroneously tallied a BA mileage upgrade as a BA mileage award ticket, I still according to AA's reckoning did tally up enough EQD during those three months to satisfy the requirement and maintain my status. Despite this, my account not only doesn't reflect this, it actually regularly advertises a paid offer to retain my status, meaning they want to charge me more than $1,000 in order to obtain something that according to their own requirements I have already achieved.
Is anyone else in this situation? I'm hoping it's simply a case of the system lagging behind but I wish there were some acknowledgement somewhere.
