Are you able to roll your standby request to the next day? Or does your flight automatically cancel?

While this is not a desired outcome its feels possible for a trip later this week where we (DM+GM) now have a conflict during the original flight and its extremely cost prohibitive to make a change outside the SDC/SDS process. Fare class availability per ExpertFlyer right now looks extremely slim so I am expecting the only potential flight to even have a chance at a seat is the last one of the night. Ultimately if it has to be cancelled that is an acceptable outcome but just want to be prepared in advance. Thanks.
Technically will need to pay fare difference for next days flight. However this is YMMV situation.

Note if this is the return portion of trip there may be no cost difference. Changing return to another day after flying out means using fares in effect the day you bought ticket.

Note SDC via delta.com may sometimes provide SDC options on the next day.
