PE can be different fare classes. One full, one discount PE.
Thanks, I get that, but my earnings didn't even match up with the LOWEST PE fare code.

MAYBE you are onto something, though I only half follow what you tried to explain. Indeed I did book the wrong dates because it was a crazy day, so I immediately did a change of booking to ANOTHER premium economy fare for a different date for an upcharge of 5 USD... maybe indeed that's what screwed it up, that I was in a sense using credit, of which I had just obtained moments prior? Shouldn't be right since I paid MORE and still flew PE, but... at least you've given me a potential clue or reason. I'd argue to Delta if I was chasing status there or if the flight was more expensive, but probably should just let this one go, at the expense/value of my own time.
