The cabin temperature on the night flights I’ve been on recently has been ridiculously high, to the extent that I’ve been unable to sleep. I understand the “water them, feed them, crank up the temperature and let them sleep” approach on night flights, but I found it far too hot (as did a couple of other passengers speaking to CC about it). Several people (including me) did ask if the temperature could be adjusted, but there was no noticeable difference.
First world problem, I know, but when choosing a night flight with the intention of being able to sleep, it was annoying.
It may be that the cabin crew think that a warm cabin will make the PAX sleep . However, there is tons of research that shows that a cooler temperature is needed to sleep well. Especially in premium cabins with duvets/blankets the termperature should be cooler to allow best sleep. The crew in the galley may feel cool as they are near the exit door and not realise that the cabin is too warm. Do please raise warm cabin issues with the crew and they should adjust.
