The announcement today that American will be retiring 500-miler upgrade coupons should have no impact to Alaska top tier elites (100K & 75K members) receiving upgrades on AA metal. Even before this announcement, all CK/EXP/Plat Pro members were automatically added to the upgrade list. AS 100K & 75K members remain behind Plat Pro in upgrade priority. Interestingly, 100K & 75Ks are considered AA Platinum Pros on FA manifests, and aligns with the Platinum Pro designation listed on AA generated mobile boarding passes.

I wonder if down the road AS MVP and Golds will become eligible for upgrades on AA metal, and vice versa now that AA has eliminated the 500-miler upgrade scheme?
