Overall, GSY was a solid... fine.
- Service is really lacking. It really felt like they were constantly 1-2 front-of-house staff short.
- When I arrived at LHR (early AM), I called to see if they had room to accommodate an early arrival. I called 6-7 times over a 30-minute period before someone finally picked up (no, no room available)
- I had booked a twin bed room which was supposed to be ~270 sq feet. The room I got was supposedly the biggest twin-bed room, and it was tiny. Like, really small. My phone app measured it around 200 sq. feet. Apparently they only have 2 standard suites, and even though one was bookable a few days before my stay, they said they had none available.
- 2 weird service failures, neither of which is a big deal. I twice asked for bottled water. Neither time it arrived. (Housekeeping didn't refill ours for day 2). I also asked the front desk for change twice, and they didn't have any either time. Just a bit strange for a premium hotel
- Breakfast was decent, albeit pretty boring. Nothing special, but it's included. Apparently you can get whatever you want, although I had to guess that since they never actually told me.
- I was supposed to get a hotel tour, but when I returned to the hotel to see if my room was ready (it was), they were very busy checking in other guests.
Location was a positive for us, as we did a lot of sightseeing around that area.
more important the next time in London do you go back to GSY or The Mariott you mentioned up thtead?
