Flew LHR-DFW a few weeks ago: out AA; return BA. My conclusion, based on a sample size of one, is that I will never again pay for AA F with own hard-earned cash. Maybe that's unfair, but F tickets aren't cheap and I don't see why I should keep rolling the dice to give AA another chance.

Apart from the insulting cost-cutting at DFW with F passengers expected to pay for anything more than a few lukewarm crumbs in the lounge - which, to be fair, is shared with BA so is not a differentiator - the AA flight simply failed to make my significant other feel special...and that's why I pay for F. In the unlikely event that anyone from AA cares enough to read posts like this, here is what I found, and this is what needs to change.

On boarding, I wasn't shown to my seat; that's just lazy. At no time was I addressed by name; that demonstrates shocking indiffernece to high-paying customers. The AA crew did not engage with me at all during and spent much of the flight reading in the galley; that's just rude. I was rarely offered water, drinks or snacks in the flight and twice had to disturb the relaxing crew to have my creature comforts met; that's bone idleness. The food looked like it had been messily assembled by a poorly trained junior apprentice, and was both sweet and salty almost to the point of inedibility; I have genuinely experienced better flavours in a fast-food joint. I wasn't given the opportunity to chhose whan I ate, presumably because the crew wanted to begin their relaxation as soon as possible.

The aircraft was fine, the seat was fine. But misanthropic crew have no place in a service industry so I will not be back.

Given that this is a BA forum, I should say that I have never had any of these issues with BA. Personally (and on a sample size of much more than one), I have always found the BA F crew to be utterly charming and willing to do whatever it takes to make passengers feel special.
