Hello, when booking international flights through Delta that are operated by KLM for the whole flight or part of the flight, how does baggage rules work? We have not traveled internationally and not familiar with booking flights through Delta that are not operated by Delta. I believe Delta provides 1 free checked bags for Amex Delta card holder (which we are) but not sure if that would still apply when operated by KLM. Haven't booked flights yet but as I'm checking into this...I see that certain seat selection for any leg operated by KLM is an extra charge. This leads me to wonder if baggage rules will be different. Does it make a difference who operates the first leg of the whole flight?

Another question - the trip would be departing from MSP to Barcelona on or around 5/27 and return trip would be from Rome to MSP on 6/15. Flight costs are climbing up now and wondering if we should pull the trigger on flights at this point or better off holding out a bit more?
