Hi all. Need some advice regarding vouchers. I have flights scheduled in 2 weeks, however I am unable to make it. Originally I paid the tickets using AF gift card and the remainder using credit card. Ticket conditions are changeable, but not refundable. So I called AF. They said, that I can change the booking online in MMB. But because I partially paid using a gift card, it is impossible to issue a voucher. I can only request a cash refund (although ticket conditions do not say so) for the part I paid by credit card. The value of the gift card will be lost… is this true?

Looking on MMB I indeed see two options: change flight or cancel/request voucher. Change flight doesn’t allow me to book a complete new ticket. Only to change the origin or destination, but it somehow must be in the same country. Useless for me. Request voucher doesn’t mention anything (and the linked conditions) about tickets partially paid with a gift voucher. Ideally, I like a voucher to book a new trip when I am ready.

Any experience or suggestions?
