This is less true for BKK but BKK has long been essentially a low premium leisure destination for AF so the kind of destination were you would expect AF to have its less attractive equipment deployed.
AF has reduced the number of destinations and frequency to Asia. But there is still a significant amount of traffic. Often connecting, from all of North and SouthEast Asia. Plenty of expat families, local business people, and even vacationers now that France and a few Asian countries have widely opened. Typical transfer are BKK, ICN, NRT (NEV) and SIN (BEST).
I had not travelled AF longhaul for over two years for obvious reasons. I guess that I am just shocked that during that period AF has not upgraded its antique 77W business cabin. FAres are higher than normal and I guess that they need the big J capacity of the NEV 77W, as flights in J are very full on all Asian airlines.
