Many systems use Name and DoB to identify users as many are not MP members. You want to enter correct name but misspell DoB.
Name change is tough but DoB can be modified later by phone call. Not encouraging it but that's a workaround if you really need duplicate bookings on UA. IMHO, you are better off using two different airlines if you need a backup.
