OK, you forced me to look at my 2022 Marriott data that I pulled back in mid-January but haven't had a chance to do the comparison vs 2021.

For Westin specifically, 2022 has exactly one more property versus 2021 (244 vs. 243). That being said, while Tempe may have added a Westin, the USA actually had a net loss of one vs 2021 (124 vs. 125). Asia had a net increase of one (58 vs. 57) and Mexico increased by one (9 vs. 8).

From the Marriott Hotel Developers page for Westin (https://hotel-development.marriott.com/brands/westin/), it shows 228 Westins worldwide in Q3 2021 versus 225 in YE 2020 and 61 pipeline properties vs. 60 in 2020.

Rather than try to address the changes in total numbers up and down the 30 brands here, suffice it to say, most of the brands had net increases vs 2020 that were greater than the net 1 addition for Westin.

David

p.s. I was waiting for updates to the hotel developer pages for the different brands to be able to compare YE 2021 vs. YE 2020 before I posted updates to the relevant statistics thread. If I can find time, I'll post what I've got first and then follow up when Marriott updates the developer pages - which had included the RevPAR info but, upon a quick look, that data appears to have been excised unfortunately from the Q2 and Q3 2021 fact sheets.
