I can only second some of the comments made above. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler used to be a really good hotel but quality and service has gone downhill in the past couple of years. The hotel is currently (as of Feb 2022) still incredibly short staffed and you feel that in every respect. There is still some experienced staff around, particularly at the Mallard Lounge (Francis comes to mind!) and they make you feel home and welcome every time we are there (we stay at the hotel about 4-8 times per years and have so for the past 6 years). But check-in, concierge, rooms service, cleaning and other areas of the hotel are underwhelming.

What's worse, prices are going up and up without customers getting anything in return. More often these days our eyes turn to the Four Seasons which is sad because we were really loyal to Fairmont for so long and always enjoyed our time there.
