Changing second flight of round trip after taking first flight - repricing as one way
Hi! Back in January I booked a round trip ticket from Washington DC (IAD) to Amsterdam flying out in January and returning in early April. I already took the flight to Amsterdam (which is where I am now), but unfortunately, plans have changed a bit for the way back, and I need to change my flight to the last week in April. I just got off the phone with two separate KLM agents about changing the second (return) flight and both of them said it would be almost 600 euros. Meanwhile, a return flight from Amsterdam - DC or vice versa is around 550 euros for now until the end of April. I asked both of them if / why it was being priced as a one way flight and neither of them could give any answer - both said "it's just what the computer is saying". Is it correct that they are repricing the second flight as a one way even though I purchased a return flight and already took it? This seems crazy.
