I think "spin, spin, sugar" applies in the reverse direction. I was careful not to say "ordered" and also in a post up-thread I specifically referred to it as an LoI. Whilst you are correct it was an IAG decision, clearly BA were 100% involved as a proportion of them were for BA at LGW.

You don't think it shows a remarkable lack of judgement and public image on safety to select an aircraft for IAG (including BA) and announce it so publicly just 3 months after two very high-profile crashes in the space of the previous 9 months? And to announce it still in the middle of the worldwide grounding when revelations on Boeing's appalling safety culture and design shortcuts were surfacing on a frequent basis?

These are the facts - an LoI for the MAX was announced, just 3 months after the second crash of two, a good proportion of the frames were for BA. You are correct it has yet to be turned into an order but that does not take away that at the time of the LoI in June 2019 (last crash of two was March 2019) it was an appalling own goal on the safety image of BA. You only have to go back to the thread on here when the LoI was announced to see the strong adverse reaction on what that appeared to be saying about safety culture....that money indeed trumps everything.
