AA flights booked with British Airways - Missed Connections
Not sure if this is more appropriate in the American Airlines or British Airways board.
I have an AA flight in late April that I booked using British Airways Avios, from ILM to ORD. This was originally a nonstop flight, however the flight no longer exists and I was automatically re-booked on a flight that has a 35 minute connection in CLT.
I called British Airways regarding switching the itinerary to something with a longer connection time, however they told me nothing was available. If I were to keep this flight with a 35 minute connection and end up missing the second flight due to delays of any sort, what exactly is the process? I asked the phone agent with British Airways and I'm still unclear of exactly what will happen. He mentioned calling British Airways if that occurs, however I am usually on hold for at least an hour when I need to call them. Does anyone have any advice or input regarding this? Is it possible to work with AA directly at that point? Part of me wants to just cancel and rebook with American directly, however I don't want to go through the hassle of figuring out a use for my Avios vouchers before they expire again. Thanks in advance!
