So basically these tickets earn as many miles as flex Y fare class! Wow. That's as many miles as I was getting back in 2012/13 for business class revenue tickets! (sadly, flex also means no 23kg bag, though a gold doesn't need to worry about that

).
DUS-ATH on June 25th in Flex (M fare) costs 279€ not including taxes, the 6-flight pass (which the way I understand it is good both ways) costs 384€ with the 30-day rule (which is more than what I usually need), so you basically get it's value after the first return flight (well ok, I booked as soon as the schedule was made available and paid far less than that, but still, its more or less a "guaranteed U fare" on this route (or the equivalent of a 32% discounted S fare).
Only drawbacks are, that those types of tickets will probably be excluded from promotions with 2x miles or similar (I mean if someone actually uses the "pass" to book within the next, fictional promotional period please do add your data points, but I'm not optimistic about this working in our favor) and of course only upgradeable with vouchers and as of now not offered for business class directly (say at 6x/10x the price of an A fare).
What also probably requires clarification is how far in the future exactly you can book with the pass. Meaning: If you buy the pass with the 30-day rule today, you can only select flights (today) which take place after 1 month. The pass will expire after 12 months
, but can you book flights at all after 11 months? If yes, then I guess you can book whatever is already in the schedule at 30+ days, but if you can't, then this means that this 30-day rule pass is potentially only good for 10 up to maximum 11 months.
I 've personally already booked our flights until the end of the year using various past promotions, but I will consider the pass sometime within 2023 (if it's still available), because our constantly flying during peak season is already making the 6-flight pass worth it after 4 flights, worst case.
Had I had the chance a few years ago, I think I would have gotten that "Germany" pass for sure (it's almost crazy that it's only 1€ more per flight than the DUS-SKG which is included in that!), but now it's only DUS-ATH for us.
