We stayed at Ziva over the long weekend.
Enjoyed this side better than Zilara which we visited in November.
We felt many of the Ziva restaurants had better food quality as compared to Zilara
Globalist benefits were not mentioned until I asked for the letter explaining them. Cabana was not offered and I didn't ask because we don't find them all that great.
We were able to use the laundry benefit twice since we had two rooms.
Had some room issues- the bedroom portion of our master suite had poorly functioning AC and a strong smell of urine and one of the walls in the connecting standard room had significant water damage and apparent wet paint (2511/2510 in case anyone has them in the future). Property was full so no room changes available and maintenance didn't attempt to address the issues until the following day after numerous calls repeated requests for assistance and reports to our butler. It was slightly better for a day but then recurred. Our butler just kept saying there was no problem appreciated and there was nothing else that could be done. In addition to this he was essentially useless and it's clear he was just checking the box requiring him to make contact with the guest once a day.
The new WhatsApp request line was so-so: you cannot directly contact your butler, and many details via the request line, especially for in room dining, are ignored/incorrectly executed. I guess not dissimilar to any dining related request that differs from exactly what is on menu (even the most simple things- eg a side of sliced avocado with a dish, or apple juice instead of the included orange juice).
Issues aside, we had much better and friendlier poolside service and felt dining/food quality was better as compared to Zilara. Ziva also had Aperol, which my wife really likes, whereas Zilara did not during our last stay.
