I have around the same lifetime miles as you, also in your age range, and most of my travels are on my own dime. I'd expect to make 1MM in five years or so because I fly a lot, buy cheapest tickets.

I didn't travel heavily until in recent years. My ultimate goal would be to earn MM with at least two carriers - I think I can do it in the next 5-10 years.

If I can outright pay for premium cabin, I wouldn't be accumulating any meaningful lifetime status.
