We know what they mean....in any case to be fair I have flown budget airlines long haul, to Cancun - LGW and LAX - LGW, a perfectly decent meal was included and at least I had the option of buying something reasonably substantial when I was hungry. With BA you can't even buy your way out of hunger!

And let's not forget, most people who aren't frequent flyers, will have no idea how far the catering has fallen, and won't know to stock up at the airport before hand (especially if they believe the hype on the website). If I was flying west coast/Latin America to LHR with a short connection to somewhere in Europe, I would be very very grumpy by the time I arrived.
