See the same things happen in my small part of the business world.... the energy industry. Digital Transformation here and there. All good and dandy, but 99% of it is just dumping money into consultancies for a couple of years, do a review after 5 years and see it didn't do any good but actually made everything worse... and then naturally start again by hiring the same consultants for another round of digital transformation. And on and on and on, it goes.
There are a bunch of reasons why senior management jump in on using outside consultants. Some of it should rightfully breed a lot of cynicism, but it should also be seen as a reflection of the relative hollowness of a company's "professional" senior management -- be it by the C-suites or their supposed overseers in the BOD.

I still have some 2019-issued tickets for 2020 flights that couldn't be completed because SAS's flight operation adjustments during the pandemic led to the exchanged tickets' flights being cancelled. I'm just wondering if I'll ever get a refund for those SK tickets or have to let it make its very slow way through other channels until the government gets on SAS's case to make good.
