All the Marriott properties in Costa Rica have resort fees, and you just have to accept it as a cost of the reservation, not a bundle of promised items. If the $9 well cocktail is a big deal, probably best not to stay at these hotels.
I’ve stayed at this property and one other Marriott on my last trip to Costa Rica. I didn’t recall a resort fee at the time.
If a property is promising something for their resort fee, they should deliver it. Seems simple enough.
