That thread (Post 6, Q3) suggests the OP is out of luck. A misconnect caused by a flight operated by a non-UK or EU airline entirely outside the UK or EU - which this is, irrespective of the brand Comair chooses to fly under - wouldn’t be eligible for any redress under EC261/2004.
