Here's a sample of his reporting:
I remember when ESPN came on the air in 1979. Sports - all day - 24/7. More than a few people back then had their doubts as to the long term viability of such a venture. Since then it's amazing how many shows there are concentrating solely on everything from antiques to life in Alaska. I've never had cable or satellite television but I've often been exposed to it during my many stays in hotels or occasional visits to my sister's place where my brother in law and I would spend many a night enjoying fine bourbon and lamenting 400 channels with nothing to watch.

I would never have imagined that a show focused on the comings and goings of jetliners at Heathrow would ever have been created, but these days just about anything goes. The announcer reminds me of someone Rupert Murdock's Fox television would have employed. He's perfect! Just put your brain in neutral, pop another beer and watch planes come and go, compete with background blather. If that gets old, there are about a dozen different programs focused on burly guys with beards doing stuff in Alaska.
