Apparently there is a distinction between when the $125 credit will be received and when it is earned.
The three miles per dollar spent applies to the latter, fortunately.
It’s just an awkward way of saying you don’t get 3x (or any points, I think?) on the spend toward the $125 credit. Chase started doing this on most of their cards that offer credit rebates a while back.
