Hertz never charged me for rental, and seems to have no record of it
I rented a car at DFW for a few hours in January - picked it up in AM and dropped it off in the PM. There was a credit card authorization for the appropriate amount on my card after I picked it up.
When I returned it I was in a rush and did not get the paper receipt. The email receipt never came. Oddly, there was then an additional $100 pre-authorization after I returned the car. Then, my credit card was never charged, both authorizations eventually dropped off my credit card, my Hertz points never arrived, and the receipt is not available on the website.
I did keep a copy of my rental contract, as well as the pre-existing damage form. There was a decent amount of pre-existing damage when I picked it up, the car had obviously been wrecked and fixed, and I documented all of it.
Is there any cause for concern here? Should I take any action? Or will they just eventually get around to charging me and send me my receipt?
