It’s another day in the office but one that requires more meticulous planning to know we’ve got a ‘safe’ (in terms of weather not doing anything stupid) alternative up our sleeves. For the flight itself lots of updates on winds to check limits and then a thorough briefing to check and set limits and expectations and to brief and go through various missed approach possibilities, setting of ‘bottom lines’, certainly in terms of fuel.

As for the execution, it is actually a mix of excitement and intense concentration but if any of us don’t like what we are seeing or feeling, then we go around as it’s always safer up aloft.
