Currently, both HK & China, I'd imagine, offers a great opportunity to visit, but equally frustration that they're closed.
TST for $70? As a Cat 4, perfect for those free night redemptions.
It's always been in the top 5 in the world? Not suggesting what others should do, but I'll probably allocate my Hyatt currency to burn in HK, China or SE Asia.
I think the hospitality industry in HK is eager for the border to open up, so they have a chance to raise prices. These low prices are most likely unsustainable in the long run. I created a thread on FT where a top-level government member anticipates this summer as the earliest HK could open up. I'm beginning to think the fall may be the earliest as HK is being overwhelmed by an Omicron surge. I'm already fully vaccinated (2+booster), so people like me are extremely low risk. As soon as they eliminate the quarantine requirement, I would love to spend a week at the Grand Hyatt and Centric. Asia is like the best place to enjoy top-tier status perks. Sadly, I haven't been anyone exotic since qualifying for Hyatt Globalist.
