Yes. When you come out of the terminal, look for the cab stand and they’ll assign you an appropriate size cab. I don’t think you’ll have much of a wait for an Uber leaving from the airport, unless there aren’t many XLs. There is a dedicated lot for Uber, etc. to wait. They’ll pick you up in the same general area as the cabs. I just like being able to walk out of the terminal and the cabs are lined up at the cab stand waiting to go.
I’m not sure what specific info you’re looking for regarding “updates for Carnival season”. If you’re Downtown, it’ll be the “luck of the draw” as to timely availability.
We arrive this Thursday evening around 9pm. Our AirBnB host offered to pick us up for $140. I thought that was pricey. Mrs pbiflyer is buying into the host's saying that Ubers and taxi lines will be long, if available at all.
We are staying in the lower garden district. I am leaning toward the cab option as well.
