My sister has had the Explorer card for years and now wants the Quest card as she lives next to a United Hub and flies them for work and back home multiple times a year. I was unsure about how to tell her to go about things to get the SUB for the Quest card. She has had the Explorer for years and is here longest revolver so I was thinking of just downgrading that to the Gateway to keep active with no annual fee. Is the 24 month SUB rule per specific product or for all united co-branded products?

The easiest way i was thinking is just apply for Quest and then down grade current Explorer to Gateway. would this be correct or am I missing something on the steps to get this end result.
