This only applies if you book travel through the Chase Travel portal or use the Pay Yourself Back feature. If you transfer to airlines or hotel programs, Sapphire Reserve is no better than Sapphire Preferred or INK Preferred.

Here is the reasoning. Pay taxes with INK Unlimited, earn 1.5 points per dollar. Redeem through Chase Portal (or PYB) when paired with Sapphire Reserve at $0.015/point. Net result is 1.5 x 0.015 = 2.25% which is slightly more than the tax processors fee for Federal payments. -Others- will only use a card to pay taxes if it covers the spend required to earn a new account bonus -and- they would not otherwise be able to make that spend.
