I did consider that. The problem is that with United's elimination of the Flex PQP concept, I will have a harder time getting to Gold in the future. So I'm planning on saving my other 5,000 Flex PQPs to stretch out Gold as long as possible. (I like the access to the Gold lounge in FRA.)
