I have an hilton honors account that is a few years old and my wife just got one because she wanted to transfer some points from amex. After the points transfer I saw there is an option to merge the accounts so I filled that out. I didn't see any harm in it, but after reading some old threads here it sounds like it could cause the accounts to be closed. Specially since her hilton honors is new. Is that still accurate? I don't need to combine the accounts, its just for convenience to have one less number to remember. We are married and I can provide marriage certificate if that matters.
