I suspect it will have to be a BA eStore purchase in order to gain at least one Avios and I don't think they post quickly enough since the trip is <14 days away.
On the other hand, I am contemplating adding him to my Friend/ Family list and making the booking for him but unsure if he were to cancel, would he get a full refund (without the £35 cancellation fee) as the booking was made this morning so well within 24 hrs of making the booking. Or will BA make him take a FTV and scrap the old rule of "within 24hr cancellation with full refund"?

Do you think it is too tight a schedule to try and get that one Avios as I don't think I have ever purchased from the BAeStore but my reading on this forum suggests it can be hit and miss? What would you do if in similar situation?
