Can I please urge one note of caution about this article. The screenshots of prices, which are then used in the article, appear to be taken from the price shown at the bottom of the page on which you select flights. As is well known here, this price is very often inaccurate. You have to click through to the next page to get a firm quote and accurate prices. So I'm wondering whether the analysis may be affected by this.

The other thing that I'm wondering is this: the article looks only at prices for award tickets, and whether/how/how much they've increased. But traditionally, the non-RFS TFC for an award were always the same as the TFC for a cash ticket in the same cabin. Do the award TFC increases simply reflect increases in TFC for all ticket including cash tickets? Is there any evidence that award ticket buyers are being treated less well than cash ticket buyers, so far as TFC are concerned?

Quite a lot of work might be needed to analyse that, and I hope that people will have the time to do it rather than just jumping to conclusions about award ticket price increases.
