Speaking of tipping, I stayed in the Renaissance Chauncery Court in London about 6 months ago, and the Shift manager came to escort me to my room (I was MR Gold at that point). He had absolutely no clue where the light switch was in my room.
It seems as if he lingered around for a while before leaving expecting a tip that I did not give. I was not given exceptional service, and I thought that London was generally not a tipping society.
Anyone else have any odd tipping experiences?
