(Actually, other parts of the article seem incorrect too. For instance, Dunkin' definitely worked in store without the app as of a few days ago and I don't think I've run into any company owned Starbucks without contactless; the only ones of the latter that don't are ones in places that don't support contactless themselves, e.g. the ones inside Kroger stores.)
