Sorry for adding to an old thread, but it seems like it talks about my problem as well.
I has an award Business flight on 016 ticket flying Turkish Airlines SFO<>KBP through IST in April. All good, nice baggage allowance. 70K miles each way pp.
It's for me & my son. I am Gold, he is Silver.
Now few days ago Turkish canceled our leg from KBP to IST. All other options were 2x more expensive (starting 150K miles pp), but (after I proposed this option) agent rebooked us for LH1491 (Economy) + UA927 (Business Polaris) through Frankfurt. So far good enough. Yep, one segment in economy, but it's short and generally this route is more straight.
The problem is that United app shows $195 per bag with 0 free ones. I tried to check with United agent, but he said "check with Lufthansa" even after I explained that my original itinerary had plently of free bags and noone told me it's going to change that drastically.
I still think it's some kind of an error, since the fare class seems like "Economy (X)" in United app. Also interesting that for the business leg it says "confirmed", so may be the business polaris was done as an upgrade by agent, not sure if it affects anything.
So, my queston is what should I expect as free luggage and how can I confirm it? Should I call Lufthansa? I did not find luggage allowance in the Lufthansa reservation management on the web. I can try the app.
