Pity about the Hyatt HB. The Hilton HB looks nice enough from the outside, and it's built so that all the balconies have a sea view. It's also a bit closer to Main Street than the Hyatt, so if you're in the mood you can stroll to the pier for dinner at Duke's seafood restaurant, followed by a drink at the HB Beer Company. Failing that, the Hyatt Anaheim should be fine. Newport Beach is a possibility, but I don't know anything about the surprisingly limited range of hotels, and the traffic pattern is a somewhat less convenient during the evening rush hour (ignore any ridiculous Mapquest suggestion that it's simply a matter of driving down the 57 to Newport Blvd, which is a great way to spend an hour reading people's Bush/Cheney bumper stickers at close range).
