We are booked on a k fare economy classic ticket LHR-MUC that we no longer wish to use.

When I try to rebook this using the app the options are limited (presumably because of k fare ability?) We were originally due go LHR-MUC on the 19th Feb 2022 with the return MUC-LHR a week later, and ideally I would like to move these to 11th to 18th feb 2023, but the flights won’t show in time for me to rebook before departure (even though I believe they would be just inside a year from the initial departure date).

Will I be able to do either of the following:

1. rebook for random dates that have k fare ability, and then rebook this again to my preferred dates (hoping that k fare will be available and there will be no additional charge). Issue with this is I don’t know how many times I can rebook so might be left with flights I can’t use.

2. Rebook for more preferential dates during 2022 on a different fare class, and either keep these or try to then rebook these as above (in which case, would I get a refund if the flight was cheaper, or would the new fare codes override this, potentially making the k fare unable to be rebooked onto even though tge original fare was k).

3. Ask if I can be rebooked on the new flights I require, even though I am not sure they will be released.

Any advice on my options (either in response to the above or alternatives I haven’t considered) would be helpful. I am an LH SEN if that makes any difference to this scenario.

Also, when is the latest I can leave it to rebook these flights if I am due to fly on the 19th Feb?
