I'm thinking of ruling out the Ocean Tower based on the expensive parking, the long walk to parking, and what seems like a huge Disney style resort. Our priority is to go out and explore the island while just using the timeshare rate to have a cheap base to stay in or near Waikoloa for 5 nights. So I'm wondering if King's Land is better?
Hey there I answered your questions in another thread but just in case you don't see the (more detailed) response there, the highlights:
1) 0 to 1% chance of getting a kitchen at Ocean Tower, at least as of 6 months ago.
2) Yes, it's REALLY a mile to walk to and from the car. Don't forget anything!
3) Unrenovated room, no kitchen, no microwave though they offered to heat things up in staff microwave
4) It's not Disney-esque, it's a lovely resort if you aren't going in and out. So, lots of families with noisy kids enjoying a holiday in a super crowded pool(s) area.
5) For the price, if with Hilton again, we'd choose another timeshare since the best of the Big Island is NOT waterslides. It's the stunning natural beauty that isn't found in any hotel pool!
