Its 2480 miles which is well within the range of the A319. AA and US used to fly 2400+ mile segments all the time (PHL-LAX, PHL-SFO). IIRC at one point SEA-MIA was an A319.

For comparison in the narrowbody market, Avianca also uses an A319. JetBlue uses an A320.
