I'm super confused by the Hilton options in Waikoloa. Considering a timeshare presentation package for $699+tax for 5n/6d. The options seem to be King's Land and Ocean Tower. It is unclear if Kohala Suites and Bay Club have availability for our dates; I got a different answer the two times I spoke to someone.
I seem to be leaning towards King's Land over Ocean Tower based on some of the comments in this thread and others, but what are the pros and cons of each of the four? And what sort of room type does one get at each place if doing the timeshare pitch? A renovated timeshare room or the old hotel rooms? (Is this only an issue in the Ocean Tower which has both types of rooms, hotel and timeshare, but not in the other ones which are just HGVI properties?)
Our priority is to use the room as a cheap base to explore the Kohala area and the north side of the Big Island (we will spend some time in Kona and Hilo separately) and as such would probably appreciate a kitchen. We are not resort people.
Thank you!
