I have a question about Easy Jet bags.

Like others, I know that purchasing an upfront or extra legroom seat allows a person to bring on board into the cabin two bags:

(45 x 36 x 20 cm) and a standard (56 x 45 x 25 cm) bag. Translating that standard bag into inches = 22in x 17.7in x 9.84 inches.

US versions of Rollerboards are longer than that standard bag, if you include the wheels (which I believe EasyJet does): 23.5" x 14.5" x 9"

My questions:
  • does this 1.5" difference mean I am NOT able to carry on US dimension rollerboard-type bags into the cabin? (And is this really enforced at the check-in counter or gate)
  • if i were not to pay upfront to put this baggage in the hold, what would I be charged if I had to do it at the airport?

Thanks.

John
