At my golf club we pay the wait staff a higher wage and automatically add a 20% service charge to your food and beverage tabs. You can add an additional tip if you want. I will add more when I am there for dinner with my wife and or friends. I know some members will leave cash tips when they have been hanging around the grill room for a while. Basically up to you. I am fine with this at the club, and to be honest I might be ok with it at an outside restaurant.

At pretty much all restaurants tips are pooled, or wait staff pays out a percentage to other staff involved in the service. They all worked to give you a good experience and should be remunerated accordingly.

That is a bridge too far. When I was in high school I was a courtesy clerk (union job and another name for bagger) at a grocery store. We were specifically not allowed to accept tips.
