I think the whole thing is broken for reward flights/avios/TP awards. The four of us flew LHR-JFK return week or so ago 4 x J reward seats that we upgraded a day or so before each flight to 4 x F reward seats.
The good lady had avios and TP for both her flights, and one other had TP and avios for the return (at F rates), other two people had nothing - we are all not expected to get anything obviously.
We obviously not going to point this out, not that the TP will change anything this year anyway.
