OK, a first world problem:
The Consumer Platinum card rebates specific digital media subscriptions up to $20/month, including the New York Times. Because my NYT subscription bills near the end of the month, occasionally there are two charges in one calendar month, and none in the next. There were two charges on my account in January, and for the second charge, Amex only rebated $3, since a monthly NYT digital subscription is $17. What to do?
- Ask Amex customer service to waive the second charge, since there will be no charge in February, AND/OR
- Ask the NYT to change the billing date to mid-month.
Any thoughts?
